Roger Haene
Dr. Roger Haene is a UK trained consultant orthopaedic and trauma surgeon, fellowship-trained in
foot & ankle reconstruction. He has a combined 20 years of experience in Orthopaedic Surgery,
and 13 years at Consultant level.
He studied at the University of Witwatersrand Medical School in Johannesburg and gained primary
surgical experience in Switzerland before undertaking his orthopaedic training in the Cambridge
region of the East of England, leading to full CCT. Dr. Roger Haene underwent subspecialist foot &
ankle training in Dublin, Ireland and Toronto, Canada.
He then worked as a Consultant in Canada for 7 years, with 3 of those years working as Head of Department and Head of Orthopaedic Education in his hospital. He was awarded Assistant Professor Status by 2 Universities (Dalhousie University in Halifax and Memorial University in St. Johns). He was an executive committee member of the Canadian Orthopaedic Foot and Ankle Society.
He moved to the UAE 7 years ago. He spent 3 years working at the level 1 trauma centre for Abu
Dhabi and now works at Healthpoint Hospital.
He speaks several languages, including English, German, Swiss-German and Afrikaans.
